I’m Kara! A photographer & graphic designer turned travel-winemaker.

I can explain…

I’m a creative at heart.

Growing up in the Lee household meant you were either in front of a camera or behind one. I spent the beginning of my life learning all things photography from my dad and sister, until I finally saved up to buy a DSLR for myself and I haven’t set it down since.

My love for photography grew through travels and study-abroad experiences where I was glued to my camera and the views in front of me.

I went to university and studied graphic design and business. Upon graduating in the height of COVID in 2020, I lost my job and did what any other eager and broke 20 year old would do… I moved in with my parents and started my business (I swear they were thrilled).

I was truly living my dream! I loved the clients I was working with and the projects I was doing, and yet, I couldn’t fight the itch to pack everything into a suitcase (or 4) and move abroad… so I did.

In 2022, I moved to Australia on a Work and Holiday Visa.

I was road-tripping from Western Australia to Queensland, but before we could even begin, our car broke down...

I never did the road-trip.

1 month in Margaret River turned into 1 year.

I’ve been studying wine and working in the industry since, hemisphere hopping to follow the harvest seasons around the world.

This left us stuck for 1 month in a small town called Margaret River.

I needed to kill time (and make dollars), so a Facebook Ad led me to a job on a vineyard…

I fell in love with it.

Now, I balance travel-winemaking with graphic design and photography projects in the off seasons.

Sometimes I still can’t believe how I ended up here. I thank the universe for our car breaking down every single day. It’s a dream come true that I never knew I had.

the day i arrived :)

a snippet into life lately, my people, and a few of my favorite things…

What my best friends would say about me:

  • If you can’t find her, check the local cafes, the beach, or the next flight out

  • She’s a self-proclaimed professional organizer

  • She’ll always order the cappuccino

  • She’ll always stop and ask to pet your dog

  • She loves true crime but gets scared at night and regrets consuming the content

  • She’s traveled to 27 countries and 5 continents

  • A glass of chillable red wine is her happy hour sip of choice

  • She’ll answer your 2am calls but forget to text back for weeks

  • She’s a last minute girly; she got a tattoo and decided to go skydiving with 1 hour notice in both cases

Work that combines storytelling & adventure

My special sauce:

After many years of honing my craft, I have found that I love to incorporate movement and a ton of color into my work. Why? Movement adds personality and helps things feel natural and unposed. As for color, well, the world can always use more color!

I always aim to put some type of creative spin into each photoshoot or project I do so that all of my clients end up with a unique and authentic outcome!

Keen to work together?

I know I am! I want to help tell your story…
