Pomerini

I’ve never felt so much love from a stranger until coming to Pomerini, a small village in the mountains of southern Tanzania. When our small group arrived for our 5 week stay, we had no idea what to expect, and to our surprise, we were greeted by the entire village the minute we got off the bus. They had a welcome ceremony complete with a parade, speeches, traditional singing and dancing, and an acrobatic show.

The next 5 weeks were some of the best of my life between getting to know the villagers and the local lifestyle, teaching English in the schools to some amazing students, and being students ourselves while taking Kiswahili lessons. Tutaonana tena, Tanzania (see you again)!
